Hello there,

Maybe someone in SA can advise me.

I am a former South African that has qualified and is practising as a CBT here in Brighton UK. I have a qualification from the London School of Natural Sciences in CBT and got a distinction for it. This was not a degree. I run a very successful practice here however.

My question is this "I have noticed that most therapists in South Africa are qualified in some form of clinical psychology as well as CBT, is there any scope for a therapist such as myself with only CBT over there?"

I am considering moving back home but am nervous my qualification will not be recognised or regarded as highly back home. Could somebody please advise?

Hi Sharon,

You would need to approach the HPCSA (www.hpcsa.co.za)
profesional board for psychology and get their input.

I think it is unlikely that you will get a registration without a degree
